Why Java?

Java is a quite good language to develop network applications. Since
there are multiple new network facilities that needs applications to use
them, our goal is to enhance the present Java Network API adding some
of these new facilities, such as:

• Allow applications to use both IPv4 and IPv6 facilities.
• Check new other protocols, like diffserv and RSVP.
• Experiment with new VoIP, like SIP, and solutions with H.323.
• See how this can be used in small Java Virtual Machines (like KVM).
